Effective March 1, 2025, American Fuels will be applying a 3.5% surcharge to all credit card purchases. This adjustment is necessary to offset rising processing fees imposed by credit card companies. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
- American Fuels Service (AFS) reserves the right to inspect and approve the heating equipment before any service agreement is issued. Any repairs/labor required to put the burner in an acceptable condition are not covered.
- The length of the plan is one year. All plans will not be automatically renewed. It is the customer’s responsibility to contact AFS to renew service for the following year.
- Service under any plan will be suspended / cancelled if customer’s oil or service charges are not paid when due. A re-inspection may be required.
- If buyer permits any person other than AFS to render service to the equipment, the plan will become null and void.
- Plans include only the repair and replacement of parts listed that are defective due to ordinary wear. They do not cover any parts, or labor on parts, not listed.
- This plan does not cover repair or replacement of obsolete parts, or parts that are not readily supplied.
- AFS shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from service performed or parts supplied under this plan unless caused directly and solely by our own negligence.
- AFS shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury from the condition of the customer’s chimney, oil tank, or unoccupied homes (freeze up). Buyer must make arrangements for a daily house check if customer is away from premises.
- This agreement does not cover any acts of God, fire damage, flooding, freezing or other water damage, etc.
- Emergency services are defined as: no heat, no hot water, oil leaks, or odors. If non-emergency services are provided on nights, Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, the customer agrees to pay a per-call charge based on the current AFS after-hour rate.
- AFS does not guarantee the availability of any repairs or replacement parts.
- Plans do not cover service calls resulting from blown fuses, tripped circuit breakers, turned off emergency switches, improperly set thermostats, or electrical power failures.
- AFS has the right at any time to cancel service plan due to poor condition, age, deterioration, or dangerous situations.
- Plan does not cover oil delivery issues due to sludge, oil line freeze up, water in oil tank, lack of oil, or clogs (dirty oil filter, nozzle, pump strainer).
- Plan only covers heating oil equipment under 2.50 GPH firing rate.
- If the minimum 150gal delivery is not met, a $100 fee will be charged.
- Customer will be charged a $100 Service Fee for any delivery canceled within 24-hours of a scheduled delivery day/time.
